In my quest to monitor compost temperature at the very middle of the heap I have developed a fully waterproof compost thermometer that has a 0.9 metre probe which can be inserted into the very epi centre of the heap. The waterproof remote LCD display unit can be mounted on the front or sidewalls of the bin. For more information please see http://www.qrcompostingsolutions.co.uk/Composting_Accessories.php. Hope this helps.
